Theme Park Walt Disney Studios

This is not what I'm searching for. Written on 07-06-2011 by Kim87

Because Disneyland was such a large success, a second park was added in 2002, namely Walt Disney Studios. This park might not be as magical as the first park, but it does make an overwhelming impression on all visitors.

General information

The park Walt Disney Studios is located right next to Disneyland's entrance. This whole park is dedicated to film; therefore, it is also called the Movie Park. Here visitors have a chance to take a look behind the scenes and follow the films' directors. Disney characters walk around in this park, just as in the first one, but you can also view filmsets and see special effects. Entrance tickets cost 57 Euros (81 dollars or 49 pounds) per person per day, and the park is opened from ten in the morning until eight at night.

Rides

Of course the Walt Disney Studios park also has many rides for both young and old. Some of these are described below.

Tram Tour: Behind the Magic

In this tram, which is located at the back of the park, you make a journey past various filmsets. Beautiful special effects are shown. You will also drive past cars which have been used in several famous films, such as Pearl Harbour. Most spectacular is a scene in which an explosion and a flood are imitated.

Aladdin

Aladdin is a calm ride meant for young children. You circle around on a flying carpet, and by pressing a button you can choose whether you want to fly upwards or downwards.

Stitch Live

During the show Stitch Live, cartoon character Stitch speaks to the audience through a screen. Stitch reacts to everything that happens in the hall. This way, the children in the hall can help him escape when he's being chased. Thanks to the humour, the show is also fun for adults.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

The Tower of Terror is one of the park's most intense rides. You are inside the Hollywood Tower Hotel, which has been transformed into a ghost hotel after a lightning stroke. You are taken up to the twelfth floor at 196 feet high in a large lift. From there, you fall down in free fall at high-speed.

Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster

The rollercoaster Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster takes you along through the world of American rock band Aerosmith. You are fired off in this rollercoaster, after which you take a violent ride past loopings and accelerations.

Car show

A spectacular car show is organised in the park twice a day. Here you can see how a scene from an action film is played, with cars flying around. What is perhaps most special is that nothing ever goes wrong. This show is a great experience for everyone who loves cars, films and action.

Fast Pass

Nearly all rides have a special Fast Pass queue. This is a much shorter queue you may only stand in if you have a special Fast Pass. This pass can be bought with your entrance tickets to the park, and you can pick it up for free at the ride itself. The Fast Pass shows the time when you're allowed to go on the ride, which is often half an hour to an hour later. This way you can do plenty of other things during your waiting time.
